The Cosmic Charlies
The Cosmic Charlies were formed in 1988 as a celebration of the music of the Grateful Dead.
The band has evolved into a class act, covering much of the Grateful Dead’s repertoire as well classic rock songs of bands such as The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Rolling Stones and J.J. Cale. They have played many festivals including Glastonbury, and are regular performers on the British and German festival circuit. They have supported many well known acts such as Jefferson Starship & Man and also played the Beatles festival in Liverpool in 1999. They have toured extensively throughout Europe and were the backing band for, one time Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia band Keyboardist, Merl Saunders, on his 1994 European tour. The line up is a five piece, although they have guest musicians playing instruments as diverse as, pedal steel guitar and Chapman Stick.
